The Indian economy has been doing better than the world average consistently for the past decade or more.

It is estimated that about 1 million Indians enter the workforce every month and will continue to do so for another 2 decades.

70% of these youth would be from rural areas and are likely to be semi-skilled or unskilled.

NSDC was set up as part of the national skill development mission to develop skilled manpower and narrow the existing ‘skills-gap’ in different sectors.

SB Global is part of the “Skill India” mission of the Government of India to skill and place 100,000 youth across various industry verticals.

SB Global is partnered with NSDC – National Skill Development Corporation in its mission of skilling 150 million people by 2022.

The shortage of skilled workforce faced by the industry has a direct impact on the economic growth; the current shortcomings are that there are educationally qualified youth, who, however, do not have the requisite practical knowledge and skills required to do a job.

SB Global is striving to be a force in achieving this mission through offering sector specific, job role specific skill training programs accredited by sector skill councils under NSQF.

Industrial Training Department (ITD)
The Industrial Training Department of the Govt. Of Kerala has chosen SB Global to provide ‘English for Workplace Communication’ training for their staff across 11 districts of Kerala. The content covers listening, speaking, reading and writing aspects of the language with a view to improving correspondence and communication within and also outside the organisation.

Muthoot Fincorp
SB Global has rolled out intensive development programmes for front line executives and Senior Managers of Muthoot Fincorp on Customer Service, Team Management and Leadership. 94 batches with over 2300 staff were trained across Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

Khimji Ramdas
SB Global has been training selected high-performers of Messrs. Khimji Ramdas since 2010. Khimji is the biggest business house in Oman. Over 100 employees of KR have attended intensive, residential leadership and team management training programme. Management Trainees underwent a 3 week long training in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

METAMORPHOSIS
As the name suggests, the programme aims to create an improvement in the confident expression of children in the schools. SB Global armed with the expertise in training at college and corporate levels decided to enter the schools since we strongly believed that the learning curve is at its height when children are in school and that communication is an art and a skill that needs to be nurtured at a young age.

The training methodology in which an English speaking environment is created is designed on the custom based LSRW platform since it has been (Listening speaking reading and writing) proved to be effective with the first ever learning a child does - his/ her mother tongue. It is a highly interactive methodology that we follow where VARK (Visual, Aural, Read/write, and Kinaesthetic) is used to drive home critical learning points SB Global has entered into an MOU with various schools across Kerala to roll-out 'Metamorphosis’, a holistic programme to enhance language skills and build cultural and ethical values amongst the students.

Students from the 1st standard to the 12th from select schools learn to use English as a means of communication. Apart from linguistic proficiency, the program also aims at holistic development of critical thinking skills and instilling confidence in the students.

Federal Skills Academy

Federal Skills Academy is a CSR initiative of Federal Bank aimed at providing skill training and employment opportunity for youth from economically backward segments.
- SB Global is the Implementation Partner of these skilling initiatives.

Federal Skill Academy, Kochi

The first skill academy was launched in Kochi in October 2015 and is now running the 6th batch. The Academy caters to the burgeoning numbers of qualified, yet unemployed engineers, by providing them with the much required practical, hands-on training and an internationally valid certification that would open the doors to employment overseas.

The Federal Skills Academy Kochi, offers the following skill development programmes:

Federal Skill Academy, Coimbatore

The Skill Academy at Coimbatore will start with an in-demand CNC Machine Operator cum Programmer Course which will be certified by COINDIA. More courses will be added based on the demand from the industries in that belt.

Students who had completed Plus Two, ITI, Diploma & Engineering dropouts can pursue this program, provided their annual income is less than 3 Lakhs.

The initiative will facilitate underprivileged students to successfully complete the courses which will make them employable in India as well as in abroad.

Through these initiatives, the SB Global Education Resources and Federal Bank become a part of the Skill Development Mission initiated by the Government of India to up-skill millions of students and make India a hub for skilled workforce.

The FSA will be set up in few more locations across the country in the coming years.

The ASAP initiative by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Kerala offers job-oriented training to students of selected government run schools and colleges in addition to the regular courses offered there.
SB Global is delivering the following skill programmes under ASAP through its Managed Services Division in association with different ASAP affiliated skill training providers.

ICAI–CAT : SB Global in its capacity as Recognised Oral Coaching Centre (ROCC) of ICAI is managing 30 skill development centres across Kerala offering Certified Accounting Technician programme.

IAPMO - Plumbing Apprentice programme (PAP) : SB Global in its capacity as Business Associate of IAPMO is managing 14 skill development centres across Kerala offering Plumbing Apprentice Programme. We have trained over 60 batches (1643 trainees).

SB Global is the Project Implementing Agency for the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD). The Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU GKY) is a programme rolled out by MoRD aimed at imparting vocational skills to rural youth in the 18-35 age group.

NORKA-Roots – Soft-skills and Placement Training Programme : SB Global, in partnership with NORKA-Roots, conducts soft skill training, testing and certification for students of Government Technical Schools. This training focuses on jobs overseas.
We have successfully completed 25 batches in 2013-14, 77 batches in 2014-15 and 111 batches in 2015-16 covering a total of 4900+ students. SB Global also offers a course in Logistics and Supply Chain Management as a part of the NORKA Roots Skill Upgradation Programme.
We are also associated in implementing specific programmes that train and certify people for employment in the Middle East.

Tata Institute of Social Sciences - School of Vocational Education (TISS SVE) : SB Global is the Vertical Anchor for Travel & Tourism for the whole of India.
Tata Institute of Social Sciences, under the initiative of the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, has set up the School of Vocational Education (SVE) to provide immediate and definite interventions to improve the lives of the disadvantaged and marginalized youth, especially those excluded by the formal school education system through appropriate vocational training programmes. The target beneficiaries would include organized and unorganized labour, women, children, dalits and tribals.

ARISE(Acquiring Resilience and Identity through Sustainable Employment)

As part of post flood activity for Resurgent Kerala, a livelihood survey was conducted in order to identify the skill gap in Kerala.
The Kudumbasree ARISE (Acquiring Resilience and Identity through Sustainable Employment), skill campaign started from 15th December 2018.The aim of this programme is to provide skill training to 50000 candidates in 10 selected domains - House Keeping, Housemaid, Plumbing, Electronic Repair, Electrical Work, Day Care, Agriculture Labour, Sales, Data Entry and Laundry & Ironing.
SB Global is one of the Training partners for ARISE for 5 districts (Idukki, Kottayam, Palakkad, Ernakulam, Malappuram and Wayanad) handling the job roles PLUMBING, ELECTRICAL, HOUSEKEEPING, ELECTRONICS and DATA ENTRY.
Till July 2019, SB Global has completed 37 batches and trained 1002 candidates in the state with in the span of 5 months.

SB Global was the Programme Implementation Partner for the Punarjani programme of the Kudumbashree Mission.
This programme has an ennobling aim to empower and rehabilitate widows, unwed mothers, women abandoned by husbands, victims of human-trafficking and physically-challenged women between the age group of 36 to 50 years by providing them vocational training and job placement as plumbers, painters and refrigeration & air-conditioning technicians.

Women Construction Training Programme

Women's empowerment and gender equality are discussed as a means to bring about sustainable development in the society and country. SB Global has completed training for 10 batches of women construction team with 255 trainees in association with KUDUMBASHREE Mission in 5 districts, with another 5 more batches being trained with 125 trainees at various districts in Kerala. These women construction trainees have constructed 10 houses coming under LIFE-Mission, and 5 more houses are under construction.
SB Global firmly stands committed for the true cause of nation building process and feels proud for these major milestone that we have achieved.
Nation building is a grand project. But it is also the compilation of a million —rather, a billion —smaller projects, each as sacred as the other. Nation building is also about building a family, building a neighbourhood, building a community, building an enterprise, building an institution and building society.
